Great-Great Grandparents....One of the 1851 Builders.

We figure this tree was close to the same age.

We drove to Decorah, Iowa with Larry's sister and her husband to visit where the Olson ancestors first settled when they immigrated here from Norway. Decorah is the home of Luther College and is still predominantly of Norwegian decent.

We drove a couple of miles out of town to see the Washington Prairie Church built in 1851. The church was beautiful and still has a large congregation. It felt a little like walking into one of the cathedrals we were visited in Italy.

Larry's great-great grandfather was a church founder and built this church in 1851. He and his wife are buried in the adjacent cemetery. The Norwegian last name was pronounced Joytle. It was an exciting thing for Larry to see.
