On the Road with Tom and Gloria travel blog

I woke up to the sound of drums. I looked outside and there was the Luverne High School band marching down the street practicing for the parade this weekend celebrating Buffalo Days. It was time to say goodbye to Les and Cheryl , wish them luck in selling their house, and most of all thank them for their very generous hospitality. I managed to do all of that without tearing up too much.

On to Sioux Falls and a reunion with the three therapists who took care of Tom ( and me) while he was a patient at Sanford. We met at Spezia for dinner. Todd was waiting at the bar when I arrived and when I saw him it was as if no time at all had passed. Jane came next and Becky arrived shortly thereafter. How terrific they all looked. It took hours to catch up on work and family news. I was thrilled to be in their company once more.

I am staying in Sioux Falls until Wednesday morning mostly to catch my breath but also to wait out the flooding situation west of here. Then it's on to the Black Hills.
