Crossed the border into Laos and over to Don Det in the 4,000 islands. Stayed in a bungalow overlooking the Mekong River Delta. The island had a great trail where you could walk all around in about 2 or 3 hrs. 23rd of January went tubing down the Mekong from don Det to don Khon island. Downstream trip took about 3 hrs. Mellow ride, but that comes with the atmosphere and attitude of this country. Once we reached Don Khon, we walked a trail to a great waterfall, Somphamit, where if we would have tubed down we would have gotten either seriously injured or in major trouble. And yes I was still thinking about it, but chose to walk back to Don Det and return our inner tubes in one piece.
