It's a 1.5 mile uphill hike to Delicate Arch in Arches N.P. but well worth the effort. The best photography is in the late afternoon, so we arranged to be there by 5:00 pm or so to take advantage of the good lighting. At first it was quite cloudy, but eventually the sun popped thru to give us some good colorful shots. Lots of people up there including a bunch of what looked to be serious photographers.

Nancy and I both thought that the uphill walk to Delicate Arch was moderately strenuous, but worth it. Just before we arrived at where we could see Delicate Arch we walked along a shelf that I've pictured. We never saw it until we were right on top of it.

We have loved our stay in Moab and especially at the campground in Arches N.P. Next year they are going to all reservations. Currently about 1/2 of the sites are first come, first served, and the rest are reservations only. The demand for sites at this campground is just incredible, we're told by the rangers we talked to. We felt very fortunate to not only get in, but to get the very best site in the campground for our stay.
