Our Campground

What a day!

I stop in the campground office to say thank you. We have a good laugh about being allowed to pick our site. It was the only one available!

We stop in West Pueblo for supplies and gas up. We continue west on Route 50. It is a short ride today.

We see our first antelopes and our first prairie dogs. We look at the Rockies in front of us. We do some climbing.

In no time at all, we are in Canon City. We continue on for eight miles to our campground. We later learn that this section is called “Eight Mile.” We continue to climb. The RV is fine.

Our campground is wonderful. When we first pull in, we think it is closed. The owners cannot do enough for you. We get the motorcycle out.

We have time to take the afternoon Royal Gorge Train ride. On the motorcycle, we backtrack through “Eight Mile” to the train station. The train ride is wonderful!

Before heading back toward the campground, we stop at the local Anglers Shop. This is our only bad news. The fishing is great but the guides are booked. Rats! They have our number if there is a cancellation.

There is much to do here. This should be a great stop.
