Alaska & Canada: Land, Sea and RV travel blog

The next leg of our journey took us up the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Kamloops. Kamloops was horrible. So much smoke. Good thing it was just a quick stop over. We left the RV in Kamloops and drove to Salmom Arm to visit our friends the Peel's. Had a great visit. Salmon Arm is a beautiful area. The lake is huge, at least compared to what we see in the western states.

Went from Hell to heaven. As I have said many times "I love waterfalls". Our next stop was Wells Gray Provincial Park. This park is about 30 miles down a small road out of Clearwater, BC. It had waterfalls! Big beautiful waterfalls. Long slim waterfalls. Wide cascading waterfalls. Waterfall heaven!

Hemcklen Falls is 463 ft long. It is the 4th largest in Canada. That is three times the length of Niagara Falls. These falls originate from the Murtle River. Didn't even have to hike to see this one, which made Steve happy. The falls tumble down the canyon spraying mist up the canyon walls. The rock is covered in downy, green moss.
