Man is it hot here. When we arrived in Caldwell, ID we were all tired and hot. The poor Girls managed to do pretty well in the pick-up while we were driving. However when we stopped it was a different matter. Fortunately the site that they assigned us has a grassed area and a nice little shade tree for the Girls. It was too late for the siestas today. So it will be an early evening for us all. It looks like the further east we travel the closer to thunder showers we are getting. Just as the even began some thunderheads came overhead and a few drops fell. Fortunately no lightning. The Girls get really freaked out when it lightnings and thunders. I am sure that before we get to the east coast and also a few other places we will have the experience. At that point we will probably all be in the coach together.

It is an interesting drive across Eastern Oregon. Some people hate the drive because they say it is so straight and boring. However there is some interesting sights to be seen along Oregon Highway 20 between Bend and the Idaho border. There is really lots of different terrain along the way. Mountains that have only one tree on them. Lots of different rocks. Red ones, brown ones, light brown ones. You get the idea. Juniper trees are abundant in some areas and completely missing in others. Of course if you like sagebrush. What can I say.. It is everywhere and extends as far as the eye can see. The drive is along a two lane highway most of the way. The speed limit is 55 mph but only a few are brave enough to drive that slow. You could get run-over by a very big truck carrying something like hay or potatoes doing 70 mph by going that slow.

Well I must close and get some sleep. Another long drive tomorrow to Pocatello. About 260 miles from Caldwell. Next stop. The Cowboy RV Park. Should be interesting. We will be there for two nights.

Until then...
