Arrived in Bangkok on the 13th of November and checked into a small, seedy hotel. The next day I went back to the airport to meet up with my friend Jamie from Seattle who'll be travelling with me.
The hotel we stayed at wasn't too bad. It only took about a day and a half to adjust to the time difference, and oh did it feel so good to be back in a hot climate. It hasn't felt like this since i was in Spain back in July! Hot and humid...along with those pesky mosquitoes!
On the 15th and 16th there was a huge funeral ceremony for a princess here, so the major roads and shops were closed. All that was really open was Kao San Road, a backpackers haven filled with bars, clubs and deals on cheap clothes and other traveling goodies.
Didn't make time to see the Grand Palace, but we did see the Lucky Buddha, Golden Mount, Wat Pho, Wat Aran across the river and today(18th) we will go to the barge museum and Jim Thompson's house.
Later tonite we are taking the traqin south to go Island and beach hopping for about a month, so get ready to be jealous and see some incredible pictures!
