The River Windrush

It was another beautiful day so we did a tour of a number of the pretty Cotswold villages.

Our first stop was Great Tew a small village with thatched cottages and honey- coloured houses. From there we made our way to Stow-on-the-Wold and had a wander through this small market town with its market place and narrow walled alleyways which were originally designed for funnelling sheep into the market.

After lunch we headed to Lower Slaughter. This is a really pretty village which has the River Eye snaking through the streets of old stone cottages.

To finish our day we visited the very popular Bourton-on-the-Water which has five mini bridges across the River Windrush in the centre of the village.

A really enjoyable day in the sunshine.
