New York City (25miles)

Enough New Jersey, we are going to Pennsylvania.

Gophie and new friend at Mountain Vista Campground.

The campsite.

From the back.

Since we came into Saugertie's on the NY Thruway (toll road) we figured we would leave on it. Our intention was to take the thruway to I84 west. Turns out they do not interchange thruways and interstate highways, not even a sign to exit. Needless to say we missed the I84 exit did not realize until we were well down the road. We stopped at a service area to check the best solution and decided on continuing to I287 to New Jersey and I80 to Pennsylvania. New Jersey wasn't in the plan. What's another state? That route took us within 25 miles of New York city and 12 miles from downtown Newark, NJ. You cannot believe the traffic coming out of the city on a Saturday morning. Fortunately we were going the other way.

Once in Pennsylvania, we took the first exit and drove about 4 miles to our campground for the next 3 nights. Mountain Vista Campground, very large wooded campground in Stroudsburg, Pa.

We will check out the area tomorrow. Not sure what the highlights are. We have a couple days to explore.
