The Olson's Retirement RV Adventures travel blog

Our campsite.

Blue Mountain Campground.

We drove a 105 miles south on highway 87, New York Turnpike, to town of Saugerties, NY. Thought we would take a break from the narrow curvy back roads. Besides it was suppose to rain. We arrived at our site and set up in time for it to start raining.

When we were checking reviews on campgrounds, some in the area did not sound good or were full. We found only 1 review for Blue Mountain CG. and it said it was like camping in a nice ladies backyard. We have camp in a few of those, so we decided to try it. It is a nice small CG with mostly seasonal campers. Our site is a vacated seasonal site with a concrete patio decorated with bushes and flowers.

It continued a nice steady rain all afternoon, so we decided it was a perfect time for a nap. When we woke up, we went for a drive into town. It was a large functioning downtown with a Sears store, hardware store, etc. No Wal-Mart or Home Depot. Very nice. We also stopped at Vinnies Farm Market for some homegrown very large fruit and vegetables.

We got home and spent the evening watching the local news from New York City.
