Started heading Northeast toward Lake Champlain. We got to the highway 22, which follows the lake south. Without reservations we headed down the coast looking for campgrounds. There has to be campgrounds along the lake, Not so. After reaching Ticonderoga, we decided to go inland to the interstate highway and look. About 15 miles inland we found a campground by a river. It was very rustic, but it had all the hookups we needed, and very friendly.
While talking to one of our neighbors, who are traveling through just like us, and were from West Virginia, said to me, you know what they say about West Virginians? Well this place kind of gives you that feeling.
Our site was probably the largest site in the campground. Very wooded so it was always shaded. But you should have seen the maneuvering we had to do getting there. Had to fit between and around quite a few trees. The exit route should be a little easier.
