Lyn & Richards' 2014 Adventures to Nowhere in Particular. travel blog

We arrived in Taree on Monday rather later than intended as we left quite late. Richard was out trying to buy petrol but was unable to because no-one could pump it due to the blackout. Eventually, however, when we heard that the power would not be back on until late afternoon but that the roads were clear of fallen trees we decided to push on to Taree which was only 76 km away albeit on a windy, rough road. We arrived in Taree with petrol to spare.

The next couple of days were spent taking Elaine shopping and Richard mowing the lawn and whipper snippering and tree trimming etc.

Thursday we planned a drive to Forster and Richard found an electrical repairer who thought he may be able to repair our DVD recorder at Smiths Lake so we thought we'd drop it in to him. We didn't realize it was more than twice as far as Forster itself was! As it turned out the DVD recorder had had it but we saw some new areas anyway on our drive and had a nice lunch out.

We've had some good rain over the last couple of days. A good time to have it as we are not living in the van at the moment and won't be for the next couple of weeks, while we enjoy catching up with family and friends.
