Why it is called Heart Mountain

How to make sure you feel your age (or older) in less than 6 hours: for your first real hike of the year, go for a 10.5km hike with 870m of elevation gain (2855 ft!), on the hottest day of the year and throw in a little extra humidity and a few mosquitos just for fun. So doing the Heart Mountain circuit was probably a bit ambitious for our first scramble of the year, we survived. Dale's thoughts on the day: "heat, humidity, mosquitos and pain - stupid hike"! Then he crashed in the hammock. Oh well, the views were great and our first peak of the year has been bagged.
