On the Road with Tom and Gloria travel blog

Made great time through the remaining part of Texas. The drive into New Mexico was uneventful - a few rain showers here and there and we had to deal with the ever present wind. I70 to Arizona was beautiful - until the sky turned dark and the heavens opened up. Twenty miles before we reached Globe, Arizona, the terrain turned from steady uphill and then flat to extremely steep hills. By the time US 70 turned into 60 we were experiencing sleet and seeing snow at the side of the road. This is a very scenic stretch of road but a bit challenging for a gas RV. The preferred route is I10 to Tuscon and then north. Surprised that Good Sam map sent us this way.

By 7PM we parked the rig and I started heating up dinner. I had made veal pizzaiola so it wasn't long before we were eating and relaxing. I can't believe how cold it is here. Last year we never had a day below 60. It can't be more than 40. Better weather is forecasted for the rest of the week.

Tomorrow we check into Canyon Vista where I will stay until the end of April. Owen will start checking out apartments in the Scottsdale area and I have been asked to go along. He hopes to be settled in by the beginning of March. I am so thankful that, for the most part, conditions were right for us to make this trip in two days. We will both sleep well tonight.
