The highlight today was crossing the tallest bridge in the world. The magnificent Millau Viaduct. Very intimidating as we approached, the main mast is 343 meters above the ground. The bridge is over 2.5 Klm in length. Great excitement in the car as we crossed over this wide valley in the south of France.

Earlier in the day we had spent more time in the beautiful village of Saint Cirq Lapopie. We got there early to avoid the heat and the crowds before setting off on our next step. We are now in La Cavalerie which for some time was the base of the Knights Templar. The whole town is built around this heritage, so is very interesting. It is also famous for its Roquefort cheese so this evening we shared a plate of the cheese and a bottle of local red wine before going out for dinner. Life is tough on the road!
