Patti & Kevin Coughlin's travels travel blog

First full day in Saint John’s Newfoundland Canada. Truck needed an oil change and some filters and we found a shop that would get it done. We had to rent a car for the day and used it to do our sightseeing. We drove what is called the Irish Loop of the Avalon Peninsula. The weather was wet and windy again but it was another day with spectacular views. We stopped at a local café in St Catherine’s Newfoundland. Had a great lunch but way too much food. We drove to the St Shotts Lighthouse but other than a great view and taking pictures that was all you could do. We drove up the Eastern coast of the island. It is rocky and has lots of small bays and inlets.
