Yesterday we made our way to the bottom of the Johnson Hill Locks (7 in all) in readiness for the ascent this morning.
2 narrow boats went up and 2 came down before we set off.
It had rained during the night and rain was forecast for today, but we managed to get almost to the top before it started drizzling.
This is one of the many different Mason's marks on the stones in the locks.
At the 4th lock (on a bendy bit) we met 2 more narrow boats coming out of a lock - I managed to manouvre around them this time.
We rose 214ft 7ins on the Wigan Locks the other day and another 65ft 6ins today - we'll soon be on top of the world again!!
We've just had a storm - thunder and a downpour. Hope that's it for a while.
