2011 Hogarths on the move again - to places afar travel blog

I’m not too bright so the others head off to explore Peniscola. They arrive back quite pleased with themselves having found some interesting shops in the old part of town.

We lunch and then settle to watch the individual time trial on our laptops – the TV here does not show the Le tour until 4pm.

The atmosphere quite tense while Cadel rides – please don’t fall off! Very excited at the end – unfortunately all the interviews etc are in French – not Cadel's favourite language by the sound of it.

We share the excitement with Judy, who is watching in Margate – hopefully with her Le tour scarf on.

After all the excitement we return to the old quarter and spend a little more of our dwindling monies on some rather nice goodies.

The whole area is packed, including the beaches, cars are parked all over the place – even down the middle of the road. Temporary pedestrian crossing lights are in place to help keep us safe.

The only empty places are the restaurants – as late as we are, we are once again among the first to dine. Tonight is Paella night – this is our last night in Spain and so we must indulge – we are not disappointed. We toast Cadel and enjoy Megan’s last night before branching out on her own.

We return to our apartments and finish our packing – we have given our day packs to the kids so have a little reorganization to do – not helped by our purchases this evening, all of which are fragile.
