This island (although it looks similar) is not Poo Island

Sunset point on Boxing Day

Apparantly it is. To investigate Denis measured the water temperature - which was 30 degrees celsius. We shall be monitoring the situation on a daily basis.

It is gorgeous here and more so because we are staying with Leah, Barry and Ben (friend's of Sarah) at Kamala Beach on the edge of a forest overlooking or rather looking up to the central mountain range. We went to a nearly deserted beach 8 km long on the first day called Bang Tao with golden sand, fringed by palm trees. I think this is how everyone should spend the winter. Sorry if it is freezing back home - well sort of !

We had been led to believe (when we came to Thailand 5 years ago) that Phuket is like Blackpool. This is not true as we have not yet met any Glaswegians. The scenery is stunning and we also found a nice little wine shop to ease our travelling worries.

We had a really nice Christmas day - champagne and smoked salmon for breakfast, drinks by/in the pool, turkey and all the timmings at a local restauarant and sunset at the beach. Boxing day we went on a nature trail in a rainforest and then to another beach (water temperature 29 degrees celsius) and then to sunset point for guess what ?

Hope you all had a great Christmas. We leave for another island, Ko Lanta, tommorrow to learn to dive. We are getting there by boat and have to change boats at Ko Phi Phi where The Beach was filmed. Still solid.
