Over two days we explored the coast south from the campground. Most of the coast was over developed with hotels and apartments by the thousands except for beaches and the occasional good promenade no real interest.
At La Manga we explored the rocky headland of Cape Palos, although it was not a good day to do much walking. The place was almost deserted with many properties closed up for the winter, but there was an interesting lighthouse.
We also explored inland from La Manga, It became very clear that the area had been mined for metals as there was many old disused mine heads and foundry buildings. The area was currently being reclaimed.
