Parbold Windmill in Summer

We caught the bus and train into Liverpool yesterday to see the Tall Ship Festival.

It was very busy, of course, this being a long weekend. We had a good day and then on the way back to the station I needed to use the toilets. So we were going through the Liverpool One shopping complex and in I went - not free, not a penny but 30p for a wee!!!!! Goodness me!

We did our grocery shop this morning and then set off - not departing our mooring until 11am. Then we had to wait at the water point as another boat just beat us to the tap, so by the time we eventually departed Burscough it was nearly 1pm. The water flow was slow and we were 3/4 empty, so it took some time.

The canal has become quite busy now that the weather has warmed up and the long weekend brings them all out too.

So we got as far as Parbold and decided that was it for the day - the filters were clogging up with mud and causing angst, which was another factor.

The windmill looks a whole lot different with the leaves covering it than it did when I took the winter pic.
