Ten Sleep River

We headed for Thermopolis to go soak in the hot springs. The drive there reminded Rod of the western movies he had seen throughout his life. Very rugged country.

We stayed at the Country Campin RV Park. This was by far the quietest place we have stayed. We were surrounded by farmland and the Bighorn River. Charlene enjoyed petting and feeding the miniature horses next to the Park.

he Hot Springs State Park was very unique. We went to the Star Plunge Water Park. It has 2 large hot spring mineral pools - 1 indoor and 1 outdoor. The outdoor one has a small water slide for the little kids. The inside one has a large enclosed waterslide for the big kids. They also have a large waterslide seperate from the mineral pools. Charlene worked up the nerve to jump of the high-dive!

This area of Wyoming is known for its fossil digging. The Dinosaur Museum was very informative and full of dino displays and a billion year history of the area. Charlene liked watching the lab technicians remove stone from bones. One of the bones was a vertebrae bigger than her head.

We met another nice family from Illinois and hope to stop by for a visit when we get near there.
