We're now moored in Burscough Bridge (pronounced Bursco) for a few days, so we decided to get the train into Southport which is only a 15 minute ride away.
Thought we'd better do it before the next lot of weather sets in - a white Easter is being predicted!!
We walked down to the end of the very long pier and still couldn't see the sea, the tide was definately out.
A long way to pull up your tenders.
It reminded us a bit of Kingfisher Resort with the sticky black mud we had to battle our way through to get the tender back into the water!!!!!
Fish and chips & mushy peas fo lunch, then a visit to the rock shop (eating rock) to purchase some Southport Rock for the grandkids. the owner is an Indian man (lived in UK since he was 6 years old) and we got talking to him - that resulted in him giving us an ice cream each, so that rounded off the meal very nicely.
Then we went to the British Lawn Mower Museum which was very interesting.
