Tashilunpo Monastery.

Seat of the Panchen lama

And least affected by the Chinese.

And on to Shigatse, Tibet's second largest city and the last place on the trip for the niceties of ATM's, internet (which didn't work), memory card downloads (which didn't work) and restaurants with something approaching choices.

The main sight here was yet another monastery, Tashilumpo, the seat of the Panchen lamas. As the last one was vaguely on the Chinese side the monastery was left largly untouched during the Cultural Revolution, The Panchen Lama later turned against the Chinese and the latest 11 year old incarnation in Chinese custody somewhere.
