We had arrived on the Wednesday in the Southampton area for our nieces wedding on the Saturday, also our wedding anniversary.

Our first job was a “sniffing out” meeting with the couple who were going to look after Daisy for the day. That went well so we were all set for Saturday.

Martin arrived on Friday morning to stay with us for the weekend.

On Saturday morning we were up early, Heather giving Daisy a long walk before taking her to Ron and Wendy’s for the day. Martin just about got up for 10 o’clock. By midday we were all in our best “bib and tucker” for the wedding at 1.30pm.

The wedding went as planned, the nervous bridegroom Marc, the proud Mum and Dad Linda and Kevin and the beautiful bride Kim. The weather also obliged with a glorious hot summers day, in fact it was very hot but we were not moaning. The wedding car was a VW Camper Van and the wedding cake was the coastline with a VW Camper Van on top. What fun.

Sunday morning saw us returning to the wedding hotel for a free for all cricket match and a little bit of a family and friends picnic before the newly- weds left on their honeymoon.

An excellent wedding and a great family get together.
