Summer 2019 travel blog

Friday 26 July

Left mid morning and proceeded down to Nidri and anchored in Tranquil Bay. In the afternoon watched boats coming and going into the anchorage – some anchoring a bit too close for comfort.

Took the new dinghy ashore – it will take a little getting used to.

Saturday 27 July

Moved a short distance to Vliho and in the afternoon went onto Gwen and Pete’s boat for a fab bbq. Great afternoon/evening.

Sunday 28 July

Went to a beautiful anchorage on the mainland near the mostly deserted holiday village, Varko. Gorgeous surroundings especially with the mountains in the background. Enjoyed lovely swims in crystal clear water.

Monday 29 July

Got a bit of a sail in which was great as we need to get to know No. 2 better. It’s so much fun pushing buttons rather than trying to winch. Anchored off Vonitsa.

Tuesday 30 July

Left in the afternoon and got a proper sail in with the afternoon sea breeze. Anchored off Preveza.

Wednesday 31 July -

No. 2 got lifted out of the water – the hull is in pretty good shape, not much growth considering she was treated some 4 years ago.

After a few days on the hard we travelled back to France via Corfu for a few days. Visited the fort which is was great, especially the views from the lighthouse.

Now staying on the hard for a while. It’s an interesting experience for me as I haven’t stayed on the hard before (Gen has a number of times so is quite used to it) and I hate ladders. But am getting more and more confident now especially as need to go use the facilities.
