The Capper Nomads Europe Adventure travel blog

Today we went to Matlock. We intended on the way to stop at Bakewell but it was so busy we gave it a miss. At Matlock we visited the National Tramway Museum. The museum is set in a period village with many of the buildings original but from locations across the country.

The museum had an amazing collection of trams and told the history of trams and tramways in Britain. The trams at the museum mostly ran along the streets of cities in United Kingdom before the 1960s, with some trams rescued and restored as the systems closed.

We completed our visit by a ride on one of the old trams.
