Sadly leaving the Fort Myers area (I wasn't ready...Mike was), we headed for the Tampa area to attend the biggest RV show in the country. The day we attended the show was sunny and cold but we enjoyed being at the show for the first time. With over 1100 different RVs to tour, you certainly had to pick and choose which ones you wanted to see. Everything from pop-up tents (costing thousands of dollars) to custom made Prevost's (costing millions of dollars), there was something for everyone. We got to tour the inside of a Prevost to see how the rich and famous live and neither one of us even liked it! Not that we had any plans to buy a new motor home, it was fun to walk through the new Fleetwoods, Tiffins, American Heritage, Monaco's, a few 5th wheels and park models to see what was new. We came away still loving what we have and there was only one new model we even liked. We were surprised to learn that while they can't make motor homes any longer than 45 feet they are making them wider. Not only do they now have 4 slides and full slides but slides within slides. Some of the new ones are over 400 sq. feet. We also saw lots of new items and gadgets for your rig, a couple we didn't think we could live without! Sadly we didn't do any site seeing while in the area as the weather was just nasty and my computer ended up with a virus. We ended up spending way too much time at Best Buy having it worked on by the Geek Squad. $300.00 LATER, THEY WIPED IT CLEAN BACK TO IT'S ORIGINAL STATE (which I could have done for free)...and it took days for me to reload my things and I'm still not sure I have them all. Thankfully I had been using an external hard drive and backing things up once in a while (not near as often as my son would like) so I recovered most things. Since we were on a time frame we headed west before the weather got nice so e could see what the area had to offer. Once again...just another reason to go back to Florida.
