Claiborne County Courthouse

The drive through our campground

Still camping! TV is still strapped down for travel, books are out, and internet is almost OK if we drive to town, which is how we send the journal, if we so choose. Still enjoying this beautiful state park. We did the driving loop yesterday and found that although it is on a civil war battle site at Fort Wade, there is much diversification here and a load of natural beauty surrounding the history. Won't bore you with the details, but will tell you that this is a great place to visit, but be prepared for humidity. Still looking at the Mississippi across the road and thinking of the fish that might have been.

Visited the little town again and saw the Claiborne County Courthouse which simply grabbed our attention and had to be viewed up close. The real beauty of this town is what is not here. There is no Wal-Mart, no Mc Donalds, no Pizza Hut or fast food of any kind. They actually say Hi and Thank you in the Grocery. The bad news for LPC is that there is no restaurant, so Linda's Personal Chef gets no time off and that ain't all bad!
