After a couple of days of training in Denver we are back in Frisco and I’m back at the bedside being my “nurse-self”. My current assignment is in a lovely hospital with spacious labor suites and astounding views out every window so I can’t complain!

Today, however, I had the day off so (as we typically do when I have a day off) we combined housekeeping “chores” with some local sightseeing. Today we focused mostly on the area around Silverthorne and Dillon, Colorado. I know people must get tired of my many landscape photos but I can’t help but take and share them since the scenery is absolutely gorgeous.

When living in Texas we often said, “If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes and it will change.” Well, I found out they say the same thing in Colorado and it is true here as well. We started the day in bright sunshine, then the temperature dropped to 42 degrees and it rained, then the sun came back out and it stayed crisp and clear for the rest of the afternoon.

During the cloudy drop in temperature Willis and I stopped into a little winery in Silverthorne. I enjoyed tasting some of the locally made wines and ended up leaving with three jewels to enjoy at a later date.

Once the rain cleared we enjoyed a walk around the Frisco Bay Marina Waterfront Park. Blayde met lots of other leashed dogs taking their humans for walks, too, and we enjoyed live music at the waterfront. This turned out to be such a relaxing and enjoyable way to spend the afternoon.

I have tomorrow off, too, but we haven’t begun to make any plans until we see the weather. I think a hike along the Blue River would be fun! (If the weather holds… we’ll see.)

Happy Travels,

Rebecca
