Saturday we took to the road to head South to St.Louis where we went to a brilliant local bar and met the international sand sculpture champion..random. We were planning to head to Nashville Sunday morning but a tornado warning soon put paid to that. We're staying where the sun is shining...
If the weather behaves, tomorrow we're going to switch our planned route and go to Memphis instead and pay homage.
Had a nice, chilled Sunday in St.Louis - visited various local neighbourhoods (Soulard, Lafayette Square etc) and Forest Park which was built (can you build a park?) for the World's Fair in 18hundred and something, probably. St.Louis is the home of Budweiser (Roland vetoed going round the brewery on account of the fact that it's a beer more akin to water) and of a big arch which symbolises the gateway to the West, apparently. Had a lovely, laid back evening at a couple of bars and saw our first spot of live music.
