Due to all the California fires we have opted to go around that state this winter. We have watched the weather like a hawk over the last week and have chosen a route thru eastern Washington, eastern Oregon, Idaho and into Utah down thru Salt Lake City. This trip will take us all the way on Interstates, something we normally avoid as we love state Hwys.
After almost being creamed twice in accidents in Bellingham yesterday we are somewhat jittery with other drivers. And rightly so, today as we turned off the highway towards our campsite(that was just 300 ft away) a semi and 45ft trailer on a bend had crossed the center lines and left us little escape room. I kinda seen it coming and almost come to a stop while he narrowly missed sideswiping us!!!
Sunny and cold is the weather for the week ahead, but nothing colder than -6 at this point.
Staying at Whispering Pines RV Park exit 84. Decent place with a fully stocked RV parts store located within their main check in office. I'm very particular about the locations we stay at and this place meets and exceeds my expectations.Good people running this show.
Our US cell phone number is still the same as last year. 928-706-6860 useless for phoning Canada but at least anyone up there can call us.
UPDATE Nov 2018 ...Tracphone has made changes to their pay as you go phones and we can now easily call Canada from down here. What a surprise this turned out to be.
We will have a landline hooked up when we get to Yuma and will pass that phone number along when it is connected.
As usual we will update this while we are travelling.
