New Door Handles - Goodbye Brass-Coloured Round Knobs!

The First Peek At The New Wall Colour And The New Carpeting

This Gave Us A Better Sense Of The Transformation Underway

Phase One of our condo renovations were undertaken in February 2016 while we spent three weeks traveling in Japan. Both bathrooms were completely gutted and new showers, countertops, sinks and toilets were installed. We replaced the flooring in the bathrooms and the front entry with tile, adding under-floor heating in the bathrooms to give warmth to our winter mornings.

Now it was time to transform the rest of the condo by painting it a fresh new colour, replacing the baseboards throughout, and discarding the 25-year-old carpet and replacing it with a Berber-style carpet much more to our liking.

We also planned to change all the door handles and electrical plugs and plates to give the condo a modern look. Our contractor estimated they would need 10 – 12 days to complete the work so we decided to explore Vancouver Island once our weekend at the Iyengar Yoga Retreat was over.
