Hello People

Here we are again ... One week later and the communication lines are once again open. !

Well we are in Adelaide, Australia and staying with Elana, Paul and Saffie ( The Cat .. Who isn't impressed at giving up her double bed, in our honor !)

We left Bangkok on 5th December at 5.05pm and arrived on 6th December, after another 'Long' flight from Bangkok to Sydney. It seemed to be a worse flight this time, I guess it is because we didn't really sleep aswell and there was abit of turbulance, which kept jogging us out of our beauty sleep. !

We then caught a domestic flight from Sydney to Adelaide and caught a taxi in the ( NOTE PEOPLE IN THE RAIN) to Elana and Pauls house in Unley, Adelaide at 10.30am.

Elana spent three hours running through our itinery for the following week and provided us with full instructions on how to turn on the lights, run the bath, run the shower, light the grill and lock the doors. ( We were quite tired after this.. but we tried to fight the jet lag, and continue so we went with Elana shopping for the xmas tree and then on to collect Paul from work). By about 5.30 we were so shattered that a snooze was in order !

Tuesday, we overlsept by miles and woke up at 1.00pm .. Woops.. Thats jet lag for you ! So we headed into Adelaide City Centre and went to an internet cafe, as we needed to print off all our time tables for our trip up the East Coast.

Wednesday .. We were up nice and early. We caught a tour bus, which proceeded to give us a guided tour around Adelaide City and the high light of the trip was .. we went to Haighs Chocolate factory! Souvenirs were of course bought here, but already have been consumed. Sorry everyone .. You wouldn't liked them anyway ! We also decorated the XMAS tree !

Thursday .. Another early 5.30 am start , destination 'Kangaroo Island' ... We caught the ferry accross, which was entertaining as the sea was incredibly rough and alot of people turned quite green enroute.

We found our accomodation, which was a three bedroomed cottage at American River, with amazing views accross the river. We then hopped into our shorts, as the weather had vastly improved and headed off to find some beaches. ( Which we did find and they were truly amazing .. We will add some photos soon of them .. Just so you know what you are missing.)

We can now safely say that we have expereienced a Ozy Barbie .. which was truly yummy and we spent the evening sipping wine on the verandah overlooking American River, with Wallabys and a Small Jack Russell called 'Shivers' as extra company.

On Friday morning we had a hearty breakfast, which for Michelle and Paul it included a Good Old Fry up and for Elana and Hannah it included lots of fruit and Fibre.

We headed out early to beat the tourists to Seal Bay, where we took a stroll along the beach and saw Sealion pups frolicking on the beach, their mothers snoring at their sides, as they had been out to sea fishing for three days. ! ( Now that is what I call commitment ).

Paul then drove us to the National Park accross some unmade dirt tracks, where we saw some remarkable granite rocks and Admirals Arch. Where we saw New Zealand Seals playing in the rock pools and sleeping in the arch way. !

We then had Fish and Chips, before we took the ferry home. Thankfully the ferry crossing was alot better and no one turned green this time. !

Saturday .. Family Xmas with Elana and Paul, Australian style. Today we have met Elana sisters Sarah and Lena, with their husbands and children. We had a yummy seafood Xmas dinner, under the vine trees in the garden. From 7.30pm, friends of Elana and Pauls arrive and the serious drinking began. The three Pomms ( Paul, Hannah and Michelle) all got into the spirit of the day, by wearing their Xmas attire. ( photos to follow).

Sunday .. The plan is to walk off all the food, we devoured on Saturday.

The plan is to leave Elana and Pauls on Wednesday 15th December and the the back packing begins. !

If you look at our itinery page, you will see that we have updated it with all our stops up until the 31st January 2005.

If anyone wants any updates on Neighbours, give us a shout ... Carls wedding, what a cliff hanger !!!

Keep your emails and text messages coming, just so we know you haven't forgotten us.

Loads of Luv

Shelley Bell, Hannah and Hamish
