|Our departure was a bit rushed, as the Alaska Airlines ticket agents had to hand-write our baggage tags. The last five of our eleven bags were only checked through to Seattle instead of all the way to Chiang Mai, but we have five hours to kill there anyway, so we will retrieve the bags and get them checked through to Chiang Mai.
Unfortunately, however, we were unable to have our traditional prayer with our supporters that were at the airport to see us off, nor were we able to obtain our traditional team photo on the steps. Soooo, team photo yet to come.
We flew Alaska Airlines from Fairbanks, Alaska to Seattle, Washington, where we had a five-hour layover before our Eva Air flight to Taipei. Our eleven-hour flight from Seattle to Taipei was quite enjoyable on Eva Air, as we were seated in Business Class. The seats were nice and wide with leg supports that popped up when we reclined the chairs. We also enjoyed a variety of movies or games on our individual TV screens in the seat-back in front of us. The seat pockets contained a complimentary drawstring pouch of toothbrush, toothpaste, and lotion, as well as slippers. Each seat contained a soft pillow and a warm quilt (not a blanket, but a QUILT). What a treat for such a long flight!
