2009 Spring 2 Fall |

Eight months and Fourteen thousand miles later, we end our trip where it began - back home in California. This year's journey took us to 22 states, not one of which we will ever forget. Once again, we are different people from when we started.
This time we hit a lot of big cities - Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Kansas City, Memphis, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, New Orleans and Mobile. But we also walked a lot of beaches, and we hiked the trails of many a wild life refuge. For six unforgettable weeks we worked our way around the Gulf of Mexico from Brownsville, Texas to Tampa, Florida.
We saw animals and we saw art. We relived the horrors of the Oklahoma City bombing and the tragedies of the Kennedy and King assassinations. We paid our respects to the heroes of the Civil Rights Movement, and we heard every kind of music from blue grass to Elvis to Satchmo to Zydeco. It was all wonderful!
Our heartfelt thanks to those of you who kept us company, and we invite you to join us next year at the Indy 500. Watch for our next trip journal 2010race2finish, and come along for the ride.
